Derby history in football

Derby means the same country, city, or
hometown team’s competition. These games are
always exciting, and they always have a tense
atmosphere. Derby isn’t a simple match; derby
means a matter of life and death for football
fans. If you lost the derby match, you don’t
want to go to school or work if you are crazy
about your team. In football, there are so many
competitive derbies. For example, in Türkiye,
Galatasaray and fenerbahçe are arch rivals.
When they play a match, football fans hold
their breath. In Scotland, Rangers and Celtic are
the owners of the football in their country. In
England, the Manchester derby has always been
exciting. Also Liverpool-Everton, namely the
Merseyside derby or London derby. Chelsea Arsenal is also a North London derby. Arsenal Tottenham is very popular. If you think the best
derbies are in Europe, you are wrong.
In Argentina, the Boca Juniors–River Plate
derby has always started a war between these
teams fans. Famous football magazine
FourFourTwo said that the Boca Juniors–River
Plate derby is the best derby in the world. In my
opinion, the best derby is Inter–Milan, namely
the Derby Della Madonnina. The two teams are
in the same city of Milano and the statue of the
Virgin Mary in the Duomo. That’s why it’s
called the Derby Della Madonnina.
