Donald Trump The New President
Donald Trump, the new president of the United States of America. First of all, let’s start with the question, “Who is Donald Trump?” Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in New York City. He is the fourth child of Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. He attended the New York Military Academy from eighth through twelfth grade. In 1964, Trump enrolled at Fordham University. Two years later, he transferred to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in May 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He is now an American politician who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021. And now he is scheduled to be inaugurated as the 47th president on January 20, 2025, after winning the 2024 presidential election.
I think this much information is enough to get to know Trump a little bit, so I move on to my second question, “What consequences could Trump becoming president have on the world?”. First of all, Trump had drawn attention with his criticisms of alliances like NATO during his first presidential term. His re-election could create uncertainty regarding the future of these alliances. This means that Trump could have an impact on “international alliances.” Additionally, Trump’s strong support for Israel could further escalate tensions in the region.
When it comes to trade, Trump’s economic policies, carried out under the slogan “America First,” could exert pressure on global trade. Especially trade wars with China and the EU may come back to the agenda. Now, the most important question is how the Turkey-U.S. relationship will be after Trump becomes president.
The answer to this question is not yet fully clear, but during the Trump era, we had been following a course based on personal relationships. In a new Trump era, how these relations will shape trade, defence, and regional policies may again depend on inter-leader dialogue. As a result, Trump’s re-election could lead to changes that might shake the international system. One might face a more unpredictable world order. However, the exact shape of the effects will also depend on how other countries respond to the Trump administration.
