Muğla, the paradise of Turkey
Muğla is a region which hosted many ancient civilizations and it keeps its importance in every period. Before Islamic rule, this area was called Karya, and after Islamic rule it was called Menteşe. But the origin of the name of the region is not clear.
What is the culture of Muğla?
The local people of Muğla usually have typical characteristics of the Aegean Region. People in this area are warm, friendly and helpful. Traditionally, fishing, olive farming, dairy farming and tourism sector are among the main income sources of the people. Many families still work in these jobs today.

Some of them are Butterfly Valley, Ölüdeniz, Saklıkent Canyon, Ekincik Bay, Uyku Valley, Dalaman River, Kargı Bay, Gizlikent Waterfall, Gemiler Island, Sandras Mountain, Fosforlu Cave, Bafa Lake National Park, Ula Canyon, İncirliin Cave, Turgut Waterfall, Güllük Forest and Datça bays. These places are very popular for tourists and many people visit Muğla every year.
