What Is the Nipah Virus?
In fact, this virus is not new.First,this virus appeared in Sungai Nipah village in Malaysia in 1998, and it was named “NİPAH” (NiV). This virus is a zoonotic virus, which means it is transmitted from animals to humans. First, this virus appeared in Malaysia after that in Bangladesh, India, Philippines and Singapore.

How is it transmitted?
NiV is being transmitted from fruit bats and pigs to humans, so NiV can be transmitted from humans to humans through contact.
Symptoms:
Fever, Headache, Muscle Aches, Cough and Shortness of Breath
Is It a Serious Thereat?
The mortality rate among causes is between %40 and %75. This percentage is very high and so far, there is not any vaccine. The World Health Organization (WHHO) classifies it as “priority pathogens requiring urgent investigation”.
Latest Situation:
New cases have appeared in the west Bengal state of India. The NiV virus had appeared in this area in the past and it had appeared again. Cases were observed among healthcare workes. In Bangladesh a woman was infected and she died.
Finally, Most likely now the Nipah virus will not turn into a pandemic like Covid-19,Because Nipah virus appeared many times but it did not spread since 1998.But this situation does not mean no precautions should be taken, because if this virus grows the world will not pass it pandemic.
