THE LIFE OF A HERO:ISMAEL HANIYYEH
Ismael Haniyyeh was born in 1969 in a refugee camp. His family had been runned away from Ashkelon in 1948 during the Arab Israeli war and became refugees. He graduated from Gaza Islamic University in 1987.
In 1989 He was arrested because of attempting 1. Intifada. When he was released in 1992 he was exiled to Southern Lebanon by Israel, joining a group of 415 other members of Islamic Jihad and Hamas. The following year he came back to Gaza. From 1999 to 2004 He served Sheikh Ahmad Yasin’s private secretary. In December 2005 When Hamas leader Khalid Meshaal was exile in damascus, He was in the top of the list at the election of Palestine Legislative Council.As a result of the elections in which Hamas won 74 out of 132 seats, Haniye was announced as Hamas’ prime ministerial candidate on February 16, 2006. Although the opposes of U.S.A and Israel he was appointed to prime minister by Mahmood Abbas.
In October 2006 he was saved from a attack to his autocade during a conflict between Al Fatah and Hamas. In May 2007 he escaped from a missile attack to his house. In June 2007 he was dismissed by Mahmood Abbas because of aggravation of conflicts between Hamas and Al Fatah.
In 2009 He received an honorary doctorate statement from the university that he graduated in.
On April 10 2023, six of Haniyeh’s family members, including his three sons and several grandchildren, were killed while their vehicle was targeted while wandering around the Al-Shati refugee camp during Eid al-Fitr.
After losing his family :
“Close to 60 of my family members was killed as like the other Palestinian child’s” he said.
When his family members was killed from Israeli resistance forces “My sons and grandchild’s blood is not valuable than any other Palestinian folk” he said.
According to Iranian and Hamas officials, on July 31, 2024, Hamas political leader Ismael Haniyeh was assassinated at his home in Tehran, Iran, in the early morning hours after attending the inauguration ceremony of Iranian president Massoud Pezeshkian. An Iranian guard was also killed.
